The Stanhope-Netcong American Legion Ambulance Corps. works closely with our partners in Law Enforcement at the Netcong Borough Police Department and the Stanhope Borough Police Department. The local police departments have many of their officers certified as Emergency Medical Technicians. This allows for the officers on scene of a medical or traumatic emergency to provide patient care until our arrival.

As an all volunteer, 24/7, free agency, sometimes we rely on our officers to assist us more than just care on scene. In the event there is low manpower for the Corps. , the officer’s who are trained as EMTs, have the ability to ride on the ambulance to ensure care is promptly provided to the patient and transferred to a higher medical facility. These types of members are known as our Police Associates. Police Associates are not considered full and active members, however is a branch of membership within the Corps. We greatly appreciate working alongside both departments and strive to maintain an outstanding relationship for the betterment of the communities we serve!
